Server ManagementA flooring and carpet installation business located on a trading estate near Alresford faced significant challenges with its internet connectivity. The company operates out of a small office with three computers and relies on Internet access for various aspects of its daily operations, including communication and operating and monitoring CCTV. However, due to the unavailability of a traditional business broadband line to their premises, the company was forced to use a 4G router for internet access. The poor mobile signal in the area resulted in limited bandwidth, which severely affected the business’s efficiency and productivity.
After assessing the client’s situation and understanding the limitations of their current 4G router setup, we recommended exploring Starlink as a potential solution. Starlink, known for its ability to provide high-speed internet in remote and rural areas, seemed like a great choice for their location. To allow the client to evaluate this option without commitment, we proposed a trial period.
We visited the client’s site and set up the Starlink system in a temporary location within their premises. During this initial setup, we tested the system across all of the client’s devices, including their phone systems and CCTV cameras, to ensure everything was compatible and functioning properly.
Over the course of the month-long trial, the client experienced a significant improvement in internet speeds and reliability. The previously encountered issues with bandwidth were resolved, enabling the business to operate more smoothly and efficiently. Communication was faster, and disruptions were minimised, leading to a noticeable enhancement in daily operations.
Impressed with the results, the client decided to move forward with purchasing their own Starlink system. We returned to the site to assist with the installation of the new, permanent setup, replacing the temporary arrangement. Additionally, we installed a 5-port switch and some data cabling to hardwire specific devices, ensuring they had the best possible network performance.
Once the installation was complete, we conducted a final check to ensure all systems were fully operational and met the client’s needs. The client expressed great satisfaction with the improved internet speeds and the overall outcome of the installation.
The transition to the Starlink internet system provided the business with a much-needed solution to their connectivity issues. The new system not only resolved their bandwidth limitations but also improved the overall efficiency of their operations. The client’s positive experience during the trial period led to the successful adoption of the Starlink system, and they are now enjoying reliable, high-speed internet connectivity.
