Temporary Broadband for the Melplash Show

Our client based in the Dorset countryside offers luxury holiday cottages, wedding venues, a cafe and much more. They recently decided to exhibit at the Melplash annual Agricultural Society show, however, they required broadband access for one day only in order to take card payments, stream and present video content, and offer guest WiFi to visitors using their seating area. We were approached with the challenge of providing high-speed temporary broadband to a very rural area, and immediately the solution of Starlink satellite broadband was an obvious choice. We have lots of experience deploying Starlink products in an array of environments, and trust that coverage and speed are not going to be a problem. The service is almost always faster and more consistent than mobile data options like LTE & 5G, not to mention the huge amount of British countryside where you can’t even get a good enough signal to make a phone call!

We paired a Starlink satellite with our usual WiFi offering powered by Unifi, offering long-range WiFi6 connectivity with separated private and guest networks. We created a custom landing page for the free Guest WiFi that was branded with the business’ logo and a backdrop of the idyllic estate. Here are some images of the finished product:
