Last week, Will (our MD) stood in front of 22 local business owners at 10:20 Networking and asked a simple question:
“If I could give one person in your business an extra day every week, who would you give it to?”
The room went quiet. Then people started thinking.
That’s exactly the point. AI and automation aren’t about replacing your team, they’re about giving your best people their time back, so they can do the work only they can do.
IT has had three jobs over the last 23 years:
- 2003 → Fix things (IT support)
- ~2015 → Protect things (cybersecurity)
- 2026 → Improve things (AI & automation)
We’re now firmly in that third era.
We started with ourselves
Before telling customers how to automate, we did it in our own business.
Will’s staff supervisions used to mean furious note-taking, trying to listen and remember at the same time, then writing everything up afterwards. Now? He records the conversation, transcribes it with Whisper, and uses a GPT-powered process to pull relevant context from previous supervisions and structure the notes. He’s actually present in the conversation now. “For the first time, I genuinely enjoy doing supervisions.”
Our technical solution builds used to take James, our solutions specialist, around 2.5 days a week. After building an AI-assisted workflow around that process, it’s down to half a day. That’s two full days given back every week, which James now spends on-site with customers, finding their own automation opportunities.
A real customer. Live now.
In a recent AI & Automation Deep Dive with one of our customers, James and Will sat with the MD and a few key staff members, mapped their repetitive workflows, and quantified the time cost of each one.
The result? ~61 hours a month of identified time savings across quantified workflows.
Not 61 hours of headcount to cut. 61 hours to give back, to customers, to sales, to growth, to the work those people are actually best at.
But first: is your AI use safe?
Here’s something worth sitting with. Right now, someone in your business is almost certainly using ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Copilot for work. Do you know:
- What company information they’re putting into it?
- Which accounts they’re using?
- Where that data is going?
- What your company policy says?
The risk isn’t AI. It’s unmanaged AI.
That’s why our approach always starts with Netserve Safe AI, a managed, governed workspace where your team can use AI tools safely, with your company knowledge connected and your data protected. Then we build useful automations on top of that foundation.
The Netserve approach:
Deep Dive → Prioritise → Build → Measure → Review again
We don’t hand you an AI login and wish you luck. We work with you continuously, identifying where your time is disappearing, building the automations that free it up, and measuring whether they’re actually working.
Your next step
Write down one repetitive task you wish you didn’t have to do. Then take it to an approved AI tool and try this prompt:
“Here is a repetitive task in my business: [describe it]. How could I use AI or automation to reduce the time spent doing this? Give me the simplest options first. What information do you need from me to understand the process properly?”
Ideas are the easy bit. Connecting the systems, building it reliably, and getting people actually using it, that’s where we come in.
