Managed Backups

Managed Backups

In 2019 we were called up by a new client who had suffered a
cyber attack and has lost data as a result. Our first question was ‘Have you
got a backup of your data?’. But it was OK as they had a backup in place.

Or so they thought…

However it turns out that when we went to do a restore from
their data backup, it hadn’t actually been working for 2 years. Their
receptionist who was responsible for checking the backups had thought it was
fine.

Unfortunately this still seems to be a fairly common story.
Managing backups is becoming more complicated, not to mention time consuming
for internal staff to manage.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What different types of backups do you offer?

Netserve offer an array of cloud-only and hybrid backup solutions, tailored to your business’s requirements. Before implementing a solution, we always complete a full data audit, which allows us to properly advise on how we can help to protect your business.

We offer state-of-the-art on-premises solutions that we professionally custom-build in line with your capacity, redundancy, and retention needs. We pair these devices with our cloud backup platform for maximum data security. Our cloud storage retention policies are entirely scalable, and we also offer off-site cold storage options for long-term archival purposes.

With Netserve, your managed backup schedules are adapted and moulded to work best with your environment, and we factor in specific variants such as data size, internal network speeds, broadband bandwidth, and required backup type.

Our cloud backup protection provides full system-image recovery including a replicated off-site mirror, meaning should you ever need to recover your data, it can be done so efficiently (sometimes within a matter of hours) and that we can restore your entire environment. It will be like the data loss never happened.

What operating systems can you run backups for?

We can provide backup solutions for Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Android, and iOS.

What is cloud-managed backup?

A cloud-managed backup is a backup solution that is monitored by a technician remotely and on a regular basis. This means you have the peace of mind that your solution is running correctly, protects all your important data, and actually works in the event that the data needs recovering!

What's included?

We can tailor our backup solutions to include the data stored on all manner of business devices, including laptops and desktops, servers, and mobile devices.

What are the benefits of managed backups?

The main benefit of a managed backup is the fact you can rest-easy knowing that all your businesses data is safe and secure, and that you are not relying on an archaic solution that a member of staff on-site has the responsibility of managing to save you (or not!) in the event of a disaster.

What are the three types of backup?

The three types of backup are on-premises – this means the data is kept onsite and backup up to another device on the network like an external hard drive, NAS drive, or backup server.

Cloud – cloud backups replicate the data you have stored to a storage location somewhere else in the world, often a datacentre, by uploading a copy of it over the internet.

Hybrid – Hybrid solutions employ both types of backups and can often be a ‘best of both worlds’ scenario. They allow for your data to comply with the 3-2-1 backup rule:
